Will all the messages in my inbox be deleted?

My old phone is a Nokia 2630. See, I just bought a new phone and I'm just planning to use the same SIM card. If I remove the SIM card from the Nokia 2630, will all the messages in the inbox be deleted? The SIM card can hold only a maximum of 30 text messages. I honestly cannot lose ALL the messages in the inbox that are not saved in the SIM card. And I definitely cannot just copy all of those messages by hand. Help?
