What is the best way to delete email messages in inbox?

A while ago I tried one of those survey websites where they say they will pay you...(scams ) . Anyways now I always get like 40 emails a day and it is all junk. Does anyone know the best way to get rid of this crap? I have over 800 in my inbox because I don't even read any of it. I don't want to get a new email addy because I have had this one for a long time.|||You should never open spam mail---and MOST especially not to "unsubscribe", (possible virus)

Spammers (and their like) are set up through an automated system to SEND-----NOT to receive.

All your "unsubscribe efforts" will be for naught.

All you will accomplish is to create more spam for yourself----since spam mails usually contain a tracking device,--- that, when opened, will automatically send your address to the "valid and responsive" list, that every spammer in the world has access to for pennies.

First of all--get them out of your inbox. Don't open them--just check the little box in front of them and either delete them----or spam them.

Clicking the Spam Tab sends them to your Spam folder, (and any future ones from that address that come in) which you can safely ignore, cause Yahoo automatically deletes them for you at a preset time. Go to your spam settings (options%26gt;%26gt;mail options%26gt;%26gt;spam protection), if you wish and change that "preset time" to suit yourself----to delete immediately or in 1week or 1month.

Adding them to your blocked list is ineffective cause spammers change their addresses with each separate mailing, which allows them to slip past the block.

Good luck and be diligent---it should start tapering off pretty soon.|||the first thing u can do is unsubscribe from that site. Legally each site requires to have a unsubscribe link.

U should see this in very fine print at the bottom of the email.

Then u can report these mails as scam to yahoo by selecting these mails and pressing scam. So yahoo will trace them and then they will take care of it and the next time those scammy emails will go to your scam box if u have activated it.

There should be something common in all those emails, like the sender email id or the sender name or may be just the lettters in the email after the "@" symbol.

So u can do a search of those messages by typing in those common letters and then delete all the messages.

also for future

The next thing that u can do is filter those messages to a different folder for the new coming mails , so u donot have to worry abt cleaning your inbox even if they bypass the yahoo scam security.|||"if you use yahoo mail go to mail preferences and add the address to your ban list, or mark it as spam and it should not accept emails from that addy anymore." i think thats the best way|||if you use yahoo mail go to mail preferences and add the address to your ban list, or mark it as spam and it should not accept emails from that addy anymore.
