How can I transfer the Outlook Inbox messages from my laptop to the desktop?

Both computers have the same Outlook account installed and are on a home network with myself as the only account/user. There was a problem with the desktop's e-mail account and only 1/2 of the Inbox messages were preserved but all of them are intact on the laptop, so I want to transfer the lost Inbox messages from the laptop to the desktop.|||On the laptop, do a search for *.pst. This is the personal folder file. Find the file and copy it to the desktop. Go into Outlook on the desktop, then go to File, Import and Export...


Select Import from another program or file, click Next, Select Personal Folder File, Click Next, Browse to the file you copied, select the appropriate option for how you want duplicates to be handled. All the items from the laptop be pst can be copied, including inbox, deleted items, etc.





The above sequence is for Outlook 2000, but should be similar in other versions.|||Just email them to yourself. They should appear both places and you can just delete the ones you don't want.





Hope that helps.|||You could try forwarding them to yourself using that email account from the laptop, then retrieve the messages on the desktop.|||In Outlook go to File menu and then Data File Management. Locate your personal folder in the list and go to Settings. On File Name you will find the file where the messages are stored (it has .pst extension and usually is in "C:\Documents and Settings\your user name\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.pst". Copy this file somewhere in your desktop (eventually rename it, but keep pst as extension). Do the copy when Outlook is not running on laptop.





On desktop, after you copy the file, go to File menu and then Data File Management. Press Add. Choose Office Outlook Personal File Folder. Press OK. In the File Name locate the file that you just copied. Press OK. And you will have all messages in a new message folder.|||on the laptop, with outlook open, highlight all your messages, and drag them to an open window (that of a floppy or usb drive) and the messages are copied over





now, on the desktop, open the usb drive and just open the messages. this adds them to outlook
